A Day at the Zoo

We got to go to the zoo with Amy, Laura, and Amy's kids. Kenzie has been talking about playing with her cousins all the time, so she was very excited to see them. Ok, here's my deal with taking Kenzie to the zoo....it's not my favorite thing. For the most part she has no interest in the animals and just likes running around and playing...umm yeah we can do that at home! So here's how it goes...
Me: "Kenzie, look there's a lion!" Kenzie: "Mom, help me climb this rock!"
Me: "Kenzie, come see the zebra!" Kenize: "Mom, look how many benches they have!"...and yes, she has to sit on EVERY SINGLE bench. But I went so she could see her cousins, she just adores them. Maybe it will get better when Maddie gets a little older, but every time I go, I swear I won't go again...Oh well, we had fun, and that's all that counts!

SLC Trip

We went to SLC for the weekend to celebrate my Dad's birthday! Kenz had been talking about eating cake and opening presents for a week, so you can see that she had to be in charge when blowing out my Dad's candles!

Kenzie had so much fun with the Fleisch's new puppy. For the most part she ran around the backyard with her, although there was a little spat when the puppy jumped up on her and knocked her into the kiddie pool....Maddie, on the other hand jumped right into the pool with the puppy!



Ok, everyone I need your opinion! Here's the story: We went to the park, fed the geese, went on a Ferris wheel, merry go round, and other little rides, afterwards we got snow cones. Of course, with Maddie being so little I told the two kids that they could share. No complaints on either end about it. We went back to sit down, and my aunt, cousin, grandpa, and my Dad all went on for 5 minutes about what a horrible and mean mom I was for not getting Maddie her very own. I was so tired of listening to this that I gave in, got another snow cone, and told my Aunt Deb that she was fully in charge of the mess that was about to happen. (Notice that I got a blue snow cone to match her blue shirt, so the stains wouldn't be as noticeable!) I would rather have Maddie take little bites of Kenzie's than to have Maddie holding her own, squeezing, spilling, and tossing it everywhere! OK, so what do you think? When you have a 15 month old, do they get their very own snow cone, ice cream, etc? I say, they're just fine sharing and it's half the mess! Please comment back on this one!!!!

Dave's A FATTY!!!

OK, I just got this pic of Dave from the 4th of July carnival and I had to add on! If you know Dave at all, you know he's all about the turkey leg! I really believe the only reason he wants to go to carnivals, or the renaissance festival is for these gross, meaty, bony things. Needless to say, Gina (my friend that used to be a vegetarian, and I swear still is) and I were so disgusted by this she had to take a picture! He's really good about posing for these pictures and trying to gross me out. I think he asked me 5 times if I wanted a bite...sick. I really could go on and on about his eating habits (the Fleisch's have first hand knowledge of this), but we would all be laughing too hard! OK, love ya Dave!

4th of July!

Since Kenzie's birthday, she has been counting down the days for 2 things: 1. Her 5th birthday and 2. The 4th of July. We had a day packed full of fun for the kiddos. Our first adventure was the neighborhood bike parade. Kenzie decorated her "big girl" bike (a 2 wheeler w/ training wheels, not the tricycle!), and Maddie got to ride in her stroller, and they both rode around the nighborhood with us and their friends. It was pretty uneventful, excpet for the firetruck that escorts the kids, they liked that! At the end, Kenzie was complaining that she was too hot, and that the parade was too short. You can never please that one!

After the parade, we went to the town's carnival where Kenzie (not Maddie, still too little!) got to go on an obstacle course, rode a train, and got her face painted with her buddies. It was so hot, the kids were frying, so they went home and took long naps!

Our city has a fireworks display every year and there's a huge park where everyone comes to watch them. We got there a little early and let the kids play. It was so crowded there were actually lines for the playground equipment! It seemed like every kid in the city had descended onto one park, crazy! Kenzie finally mastered the monkey bars, and she was really proud of herself! We watched the fireworks with my friend Gina's family, she has her two little boys that Kenzie just adores!

I was worried that Maddie would be scared of the fireworks, and hoped that she would love them....ummm how about NEITHER!!! She could have cared less. I spent most of the time chasing her around and bribing her with candy to sit still! Crazy baby!!!





Kenzie stayed on the monkey bars all night until it was time for fireworks, she loved it!
Can you believe how crowded that playground is? These kids were packed in there, and one of them would always fall off (Kenzie really liked it until she fell)
